Why you’ll love this recipe:
- You only need a few ingredients, and they are easily customizable.
- It uses frozen mango chunks, which makes the prep time negligible- no need to peel and cut mango! This also means you can enjoy tropical flavors all year long, even when mango aren’t in season.
- You can sweeten this with just a tiny bit of refined sugar free sweeteners, or you can omit the sweetener altogether if the mango chunks are sweet enough.
- This is super kid friendly!
Ingredients you need for a frozen mango smoothie:

Frozen mango cubes: These are what makes the smoothie so easy and yummy. You get the perfect ripe mango that’s the best mix of sweet and tangy. Using frozen mango in this smoothie also makes it so simple to prepare, with no peeling or chopping fruit. Frozen fruit also makes a smoothie thicker and creamier!
Yogurt: I used plain whole fat yogurt, you can use low fat yogurt if you prefer. You can also use Greek yogurt, or vanilla flavored yogurt for extra sweetness. If you want this recipe to be vegan, use coconut yogurt (as well as dairy free milk)
Buttermilk or milk: Buttermilk gives the smoothie such a nice tangy flavor. In the Middle East, this is referred to as laban. You can also use milk instead- any type, cow’s milk, almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk-it all works.
Honey: You can also substitute this for maple syrup, agave, or leave it out entirely if you are using mango chunks that are sweet enough!
Lime juice: Just a squeeze enhances the tangy flavor of this mango lime smoothie. You can leave it out if you prefer!
Cardamom powder, cinnamon powder: These warm spices enhance the flavor of the mango and are reminiscent of a mango lassi. Again, you can omit if preferred!
How easy it is to make a mango smoothie without banana:

- Add all the ingredients to a blender that’s high powered enough to be able to blend frozen fruit pieces.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Enjoy right away while still cold and thick!
Storing leftovers:
Since this is so simple to prepare, I prefer to make this and drink it straight away, but you can refrigerate leftovers in a tightly covered container for a day. If it separates, just shake it up or stir with a spoon before drinking.
Expert tips and tricks:

- Make sure you are using a blender that is high powered, like a Ninja blender, to make sure that it’s capable of crushing the frozen fruit.
