This is the easiest pizza you can make, an air fryer tortilla pizza that takes minutes to throw together and cook. It’s a crispy, light, and delicious take on pizza and perfect for a lunchbox or anytime snack or a light meal! So customizable too, top with anything you like. An ultimate kid friendly air fryer recipe!

I made these when my kids started complaining about getting a variation of the same sandwich every day in their lunchbox and they were a runaway hit. The best part is, they are still super tasty at room temperature so you don’t necessarily need to eat them right out of the air fryer!
Another fun air fryer snack idea is this air fryer pasta, and you can serve these air fryer tortilla pizzas with a light salad to make them into a full meal, like this zingy cabbage salad or this Mediterranean olive salad.

Why you’ll love these air fryer tortilla pizzas:
- Ready in under 10 minutes max
- Kid-approved, and perfect for lunchbox snacks!
- Customizable with pantry staples. Use any ingredients you like.
- Delicious hot and at room temperature
- Healthy, light, and delicious.
Ingredients:

- Tortillas: You can use regular flour tortillas or multigrain tortillas. I go for the smaller ones, so that they fit easily in the air fryer basket
- Pizza sauce: You can use store bought, but I highly recommend making my easy homemade pizza sauce– it’s a game changer!
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil
- Dried basil (you could also add some dried oregano)
- Toppings of your choice: My kids are super simple and like pepperoni and sliced black olives, but you can get creative here! Whatever you use, make sure the toppings are finely diced so they have time to cook through in the brief air frying period. You can add green bell peppers, red onion, mushroom, tomatoes, crumbled up sausage, and mix up the cheeses!
How to Make Easy Air Fryer Tortilla Pizzas:

- Preheat your air fryer to 375F (190C).
- Spread about a tablespoon or so of pizza sauce on a tortilla, leaving a border without sauce. Sprinkle with the cheese, then add toppings of your choice.
- Sprinkle a little dried basil on top, and drizzle with a little olive oil.
- Carefully transfer the pizzas to the air fryer. I use a wide model that fits two tortillas at once, but avoid crowding. Air fry for 3-4 minutes or until light golden brown on the edges and the cheese is melted.
- Carefully remove from the air fryer, cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and enjoy! Keep repeating with however many pizzas you want to make.
Hint: Don’t overload the tortilla pizzas with sauce, toppings and cheese, as the tortillas make for a really thin crust that you don’t want to get soggy.
Use small toppings
Any veggie you want to add, dice small, because you are only cooking for a few minutes so you want to get them softened in that time. You also don’t want to overwhelm how delicate the tortillas are!
How to serve:
- Lunchbox snacks – I cut these up into 4 slices each and stack them in my kids lunchboxes, they love these!
- As a full meal – serve with a side salad, head to the bottom of the post for some great pairing suggestions
Storing Leftovers:
If you have any leftovers, they’ll last in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge. Reheat in your air fryer for 30 seconds to a minute, and they’ll taste fresh! You can also reheat in an oven for a few minutes at 350F (180C). Avoid the microwave, as it’ll make the tortilla pizzas soggy.
Air fryer tortilla pizza variations:
- Gluten free – Use gluten free tortillas as the base
- Spicy – add red pepper flakes or pickled jalapenos to the pizzas
- Dairy free- use dairy free cheese of choice
- Pizza cones- Roll the tortillas into a cone shape and use a toothpick to secure each cone. Air fry 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy, then fill the cone part with pizza sauce, top with shredded cheese and toppings, then carefully place back in the air fryer and air fry for another 3-4 minutes until cheese is melted.

Expert tips and tricks:

- Go for flour tortillas over corn tortillas for the best crunch. For healthier options, you can use multigrain or whole wheat tortillas. If you want to try these with gluten free tortillas, go ahead!
- Don’t overload each tortilla with sauce- I’d go for maximum 1 heaped tablespoon of pizza sauce so that they don’t get soggy.
- Keep the toppings cut small so they manage to cook in the short amount of time the tortilla pizzas will be in the air fryer.
- Don’t overcrowd the pizzas in the air fryer, or you’ll risk them sticking together. Cook one at a time if you have to!
Rewarming tortilla pizzas
Your air fryer isn’t just for cooking the pizzas, it’s perfect to rewarm them too! You’ll only need 1 minute or so in a hot air fryer to rewarm.
Recipe FAQs:
I haven’t had this problem in my air fryer, but if you do notice this happening to you, you can weigh them down with a metal trivet.
Yes! While I haven’t personally tested it, gluten-free tortillas should work well. Just keep an eye on cook time, as they can crisp faster.
If freezing the air fryer pizzas in advance, I’d recommend doing it after assembling the pizzas but before air frying. Place the assembled pizzas on a baking sheet in the freezer until frozen solid, at which point you can stack them in an airtight container or a freezer safe ziploc bag for 4-6 weeks. You can air fry directly from frozen, and you’ll add a minute or two the air frying time.

Notes
Ingredient Notes & Substitutions:
- Tortillas: Use small flour tortillas for the best crisp and stability. Whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas also work—just make sure they aren’t too thin.
- Pizza Sauce: Store-bought is fine, but for the best flavor, use this homemade pizza sauce if you have time.
- Cheese: Go for shredded mozzarella. You can also mix in cheddar, provolone, or parmesan.
- Toppings: Keep toppings small and finely diced so they cook through in the air fryer. Some ideas are red onions, green bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, crumbled up sausage
Recipe Tips:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) before cooking for a crispier base.
- Don’t overload with sauce—1 tablespoon max per tortilla to prevent sogginess.
- If your tortillas are flying around, cover them with a metal trivet or rack that fits in your air fryer.
Storing Leftovers:
- Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 1–2 minutes to restore crispness.
- Avoid the microwave—it makes the tortillas soggy.
Freezing
- Assemble pizzas (uncooked), freeze on a tray, then store in a zip-top freezer bag for up to 1 month.
- Air fry directly from frozen, adding 1–2 minutes to the cook time.
