My family and I were kindly invited by Sofitel Bahrain to try their family friendly Friday brunch, and in a word, wow.
We loved it! It was an extravaganza of food (of course) with a healthy dose of fun thrown in. When you first enter the sunlit main dining area, you’d be forgiven if you think the buffet looks top notch but a little small. That’s because it isn’t immediately apparent that the buffet extends well into the Sofitel’s Italian themed restaurant, Fiamma, as well as their Indian restaurant Rivaaj. Obviously, the Italian restaurant showcases Italian food including a live pasta and pizza station (delicious pepperoni pizza!), and an assortment of hot Italian dishes, salads, and a cheese station. The chicken parmigiana and spinach ricotta lasagna were excellent.

The Indian line up was also very enticing, with live tandoori grills (pick your own seafood or meat to have tandoori style), a thupka soup station (a Tibetan noodle soup you can customize with your own vegetable/protein), and a selection of street food and curry.
The main dining section has a good salad selection, some really good sushi and sashimi, a seafood selection (loved the raw oysters), soup, and various hot dishes. There’s a live grill station outside as well as a bar, and outside is where the kids can have their fun too with an inflatable bouncy castle, slides and a little mini kids buffet and seating area. A clown is on hand for inflatable balloons, face painting and henna stations, and even Mickey Mouse comes and joins the party, and it’s a really fun way to pass a few hours where everyone is happy! What I liked is that although there was a live band, it wasn’t too noisy and the entertainment was tasteful and not over the top.

There were lots of dishes I loved but I’d be remiss not to mention the live carving station featuring prime rib and root vegetables, roasted potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings. So, so good. And don’t miss the dessert- I am usually not a fan of any dessert stations in buffets, but they knocked it out of the park here. The pastries were all excellent, and the crepe station made me a really good nutella crepe with some top notch vanilla ice cream
As you can tell I’m a huge fan of the Fabulous Friday Family Fun (insert any more alliterations of choice) Sofitel Brunch. For the month of January, the brunch will come in at 32bd net with your choice of soft drinks (it’s usually 40 BD), so take advantage of the deal and the amazing weather and head on down for a day of eating and fun.

This is a non-sponsored post. Although I was invited to the Sofitel, all thoughts and opinions as always are my own!
