Tahini Pasta is an easy way to switch it up, with a flavorful nutty tahini sauce. So simple to make, healthy and delicious!
What’s so good about this Tahini pasta?
The tahini adds an umami flavor to a simple sauce, and is enhanced with a little sweetness from honey, heat from chili sauce, and saltiness with soy sauce. Such well rounded flavor.
It’s so easy to make! You don’t even need to cook the sauce- just whisk the ingredients together!
The pasta is completely customizable with whatever noodles or pasta you have on hand, as well as whatever vegetables you want to use. Want to make this heavier? Add some shredded chicken or whatever protein you want!
Some green veggies in the form of broccoli and green bell pepper add a wonderful crunch to the overall dish, and make this a healthy choice for a simple lunch or dinner.
What ingredients do you need to make this?

To saute the veggies:
Broccoli, green bell pepper, as well as fresh ginger and garlic for the quintessential Asian flavor. I also add a splash of soy sauce to the vegetables.
For the tahini sauce:
Tahini, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, apple cider vinegar and honey. You can add more or less of the heat in the form of the chili sauce, and sweetness with the honey. You can also substitute the apple cider vinegar for rice vinegar, and substitute the honey for maple syrup or brown sugar if you like.
For the pasta:
I’ll make this with whatever pasta or noodles I have in the pantry. Udon noodles work great, as well as whole wheat spaghetti. This is actually a great way to use whole wheat pasta, because the sauce is so hearty that you won’t taste the whole wheat swap. You can try fettuccine noodles or linguine, whatever you want really!
How to make this recipe:

- Make the tahini sauce by whisking together all the dressing ingredients until smooth and combined.
- Cook the vegetables, ginger, and garlic briefly in a skillet for a few minutes until still a little crunchy. Set these aside.
- Make the pasta according to package instructions, drain and reserve some pasta water.
- Assemble by tossing the cooked pasta, tahini sauce, and a little pasta water. Place these in a serving dish, and top with the cooked veggies.
Tips and tricks for tahini pasta success:

Don’t overcook the noodles. Al dente pasta works best with this.
Similarly, don’t cook the veggies too much, it’s nice to get some crunch when you bite into a broccoli floret or a strip of bell pepper.
Taste the sauce before tossing with the pasta. Adjust however you like!
Enjoy this immediately, it isn’t as good leftover because the sauce dries up.
